The Brisbane Police Academy, has traditionally been the headquarters of past police rugby league endeavours and over the years has collected and stored many trophies, pictures and memorabilia associated with this history. However, the state carnival inception in 1987, saw a move away from this base, due largely to the state-wide nature of the carnival.
Our Association recognises the importance of this history, and as such, we have been granted the use of the new “Jim O’Sullivan Recreation Club” as the home of our Association.
This facility consists of a large function room, bar, recreation area and a merchandising outlet. This club is on the Brisbane Academy grounds, Rudd Street, Oxley and is open for the benefit of the trainees attending the academy, all other police officers and staff employees, their families and invited guests. This facility is utilised by our Association, as the primary location for our official functions and events.
