The Queensland Police Service State Rugby League Team is selected during the annual State Championships, which are usually held in late April or early May. The State Championships are played at various locations throughout the State and the location is selected by the nominating Regional Team.
The State Squad is selected to contest the annual Australian Police Rugby League Tri-Series, which also includes teams from the New South Wales Police Force and the Affiliated States and Territories (Australian Federal Police, Victoria Police, South Australia Police and the Northern Territory Police).
The State Squad also contests the annual 9-11 Memorial Challenge between the Queensland Police Service and the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.
